DO YOU REALLY WANT MORE? #7 Your faith will be made sight when you travel to the land of Jesus, the patriarchs, prophets and the kings, and I hope you will join me. Of the Promised Land: "And behold, the Lord stood above it and said, “I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring." Genesis 28.13 I knew that traveling to Israel would be great, but was surprised about the many things I learned, of which I had no idea...so many wonderful, life-changing surprises -- things I will never forget, like seeing sheep tended by shepherds out in the open, just as in the time of David. But most of all, being in the Land helped me understand the truth of the Word of God--to see the places excavated set within the pages of my Bible. Why, towns are so close together! Being in the land, experiencing the geographical and cultural setting - the people, the language, the food - helped me understand Jesus so much more. Seeing humble Bethlehem (still to this day), seeing the Shepherds Field, where the angels appeared to announce a Savior had been born. Sailing on the Sea of Galilee, standing in the Jordan River, praying in Gethsemane - nothing compares. Picturing Jesus standing atop the Mt. of Olives, walking across the Kidron Valley to pray in the Garden. Well, you get the idea. If you absolutely cannot go, here is a Holy Land overview that is quite good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_btLQaW1-JI Whether or not you ever travel to Israel, I pray you will educate yourself through videos like this one - it truly gives life to the scriptures you hear and read. Here are answers to a few questions I am asked: 1) Is it safe? Yes. I have been multiple times and in the areas where there could be trouble--most specifically the Old City of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, there is a lot of security--police and military presence. Any trouble would be that which is between Palestinians and Jews; it is not against tourists/Americans. 2) What if I am not fleet of foot? There are ways to modify the trip every single day. We travel in a comfortable air-conditioned bus, and have a wonderful, well-traveled, experienced bus driver. I have had multiple 80+ year olds on the trips with me. 3) Is there down time? Yes, for the most part, the evenings are yours. Any other questions, email me. God bless you, my friends. Christine podcast song: Jerusalem by The Hoppers
